Ekwefi's personality
Ekwefi is 45 years old, and has one daughter named Ezinma. She became Okonkwo's second wife when he beat the Cat in a wrestling match. She loved the New Yam Festival and wrestling. She ran away from her former husband to come live with Okonkwo. I think that is pretty selfish and rude to leave your husband in which you lived loved for a moment in your life.
Ekwefi is one of the wives of Okonkwo. As a homemaker she is always on task and working hard. She is always busy and doing anything to help the family. In the book she appears as the head wife of the house. She is always too busy to argue and disagree so I don't see her as one of wives who gets Okonkwo mad. Though the book doesn't give me alot of information about her personally I think that she is one of the favorite wives of Okonkwo because of her hard working reputation.
She's very smart and has well thought out answers to her daughters questions. When she is asked to do something she does it without ignoring their request. She's not lazy at all because of her longing to work and serve others in her family. She is also very loving and caring to her fellow family members. She at one point though got Okonkwo very mad by clipping a few leaves off the banana tree which resulted in a beating.
